Today was just a great day!
I met a friend for breakfast and she gave me a wonderful gift from the MOPS group that I used to be the Coordinator of, then MOPPETS Coordinator, then a caregiver. They all chipped in and gave me a gift card to PF Chang’s, money for a sitter and a gift card to STL Bread. Plus, a darling coffee mug that says, “This is God. I will be handling all your problems today. I will not need your help, so have a good day. I love you!” (sniff)
While I was waiting for her, I kept looking at this woman at the table across from me. She looked familiar. I thought she might be the mother of one of my friends in Kindergarten. I finally said, “I’m sorry I’ve been staring at you, but are you by chance Jenny Russell’s mom?” She looked at me said, “Yes…” I said, “I’m Michelle Wells!” She squealed and jumped out of her chair and we hugged and hugged. Wow. That was a great way to start my day.
Then, I had a great therapy session. I have an excellent outlook on life and my diagnosis and how to handle it. YES!
Then, I spent time with my folks. Always a pleasure.
When I came home, I went on Facebook and found one of my very favorite students from when I taught 2nd grade umpteen years ago. I contacted her and she wrote back right away and was so glad to hear from me. She now lives and works in Washington DC after graduating from Auburn a few years ago. (I’m not telling how many, but it wasn’t last year…)
Now, I am writing this as the family takes turns on Guitar Hero III. We are having a great time! (Well, except my daughter, who is just mad because she had to come home from her friend’s house at 8:15. I know. We’re tyrants)
Here’s wishing that tomorrow is have half as good a day for you as I’ve had today.
